On January 1, 1962, The Beatles auditioned for Decca Records in London, a session that has since become one of the most famous rejections in music history. Known today as The Decca Tapes, these recordings capture the Fab Four — then featuring John, Paul, George, and drummer Pete Best — performing a mix of covers and early originals that showcase the raw beginnings of their legendary career.
Although Decca famously passed on signing the group, these sessions reveal the band’s youthful energy and undeniable potential, making them an essential document for Beatles fans and collectors.
