The pristine analog live recordings were captured courtesy of Paul Stark and SteveFjelstad and the infamous Stark/Mudge mobile recording unit that was also notably pressed intoservice for Credit in Heaven and The Replacements' Hootenanny album. Stark - one of the partnersat Twin/Tone, the label responsible for the earliest releases of The Suburbs, Soul Asylum, TheReplacements and many other key artists - has done yeoman's duty preserving and digitizing theTwin'Tone assets over the years. The multitrack recordings for this show (and others...) sat in thevaults for over 4 decades before the stars aligned and A Pagan Ritual: Live At The Cabooze 1983finally saw the light of day. The 12 songs here (6 from In Combo, 5 from Credit in Heaven and"Waiting," their 1982 smash club hit) are presented with a superb sonic sheen that perfectly capturesthe moment with palpable "almost like you were there" quality.
