Clarinetist Jean-Marc Foltz grew up listening to Billie Holiday and dreamed of one day playing music with his idol. Eleanora Suite is his tribute to Holiday, a work that combines Foltz's classical training (the work's other inspiration is Robert Schumann's masterpiece Frauenliebe und Leben), and his love of jazz. The suite features music of great tenderness and respect, blending the colors of Foltz's clarinet, Régis Huby's violin with the powerful and moving vocals of Claudia Solal.
