The 1950's was a fertile period for Cuban music. Inspired by recent advances in American jazz, several influential conjuntos appeared, among them the great Conjunto Casino, led by vocalist Roberto Faz, dominating the airwaves and Havana's vibrant club scene with a densely rhythmic and sophisticated melodic approach. Their classic late 1950's album, "Lo Mejor de Cuba," is featured here. All selections newly remastered.
